I don't know where she is, I don't know what she looks like now, but I miss her. There is a huge part of me that is empty because of it. When I am alone, or feeling sad, I miss her. She is such a huge part of my life that I can't share with anybody because of the way she came into this world. The violence and the abuse and the evil surrounding it all is forced to remain a secret, and yet all I want to do is shout from every part of myself that she is mine - that she is MY daughter. That I was robbed of my innocence, of my childhood, of my motherhood, of my daughters' life. Everyday I am overwhelmed with this sadness and loss and I don't know what to do about it.

Since my last post, things in my world have been very chaotic, stressful, overwhelming, and depressing. There are many other feelings and emotions that I wish I could put into words but words would not do them justice.

I lost my best friend of 14+ years. She was the only person I had left from my past who had known the real me for so long, and losing her has taken a huge toll on me. Ever since her daughter passed away this last November (2011), she has not been the same friend and person that I've known. She has been in and out of the hospital for 10 months due to health reasons, inpatient care, and suicide attempts. Her last month of life was spent lying motionless in a hospital bed hooked up to a life-support machine as her brain slowly deteriorated. She passed away at the end of October. I've only told 3 people.

I know it was hard for her to be here - I could see it in her eyes every time I saw her. There was this unbearable pain that she had been carrying around for years since her sister died, and losing her daughter added to that pain. I know that I couldn't do anything for her but be there when she needed me, but oh how I wish that I could give her anything that would help her pain go away.

Why Have Them If You Won't Respect Them?I want to welcome all of my new followers and readers! Thank you for your comments and emails over the past few weeks. You guys are amazing and your support has been incredible.

I'm doing better since my last post about two weeks ago. My doctors have been working with me a lot these last few weeks to get my pain levels to go down. I feel more like a zombie right now. I'd rather not feel this way but I know it won't be like this forever so I sleep while I can and chart the progress for the doctors. The complications from the surgery are starting to sort themselves out.

Now for the things I really want to talk about...

I have one sister who got married last November and I have a second sister who is getting married within the next few weeks. Her bridal shower was this past weekend - this automatically brings up the red flags in my world.

The big question "what do I do about the family members who will be attending the bridal shower that I have personally chosen not to be around anymore?"

My T and I talked about it, discussed several scenarios, and came to a few conclusions. My options: (1) I choose not to attend the bridal shower, (2) I somehow get my sister to un-invite those certain family members, or (3) I attend half, those certain family members attend the other half.

I talked to my sister about it, and she really wanted me to be there. She also wanted those other family members to be there. So option 3 it was...

My T spoke to my mom about it, told my mom that I would choose which half to attend, and then my mom would call these family members and tell them to attend the other half.

I decided on the last half of the bridal shower so I could see the gifts my sister got, most of the family members I liked, and most of the people she invited. My mom agreed and called the family members to tell them they would be attending the other half.

The day of the bridal shower comes. I confirm the times with my mom. I get ready and drive all the way over there, only to find that their cars are parked right outside. I called one of my other sisters and asked "Why are ______ family members still at the shower??" I was very confused and panicked because they were supposed to be gone by this time. My sister handed the phone to my mom. My mom said she had tried getting them out the door, but one family member was being very rude about it. She would try again and call me back.

I waited in my car, watching for any signs of this family member leaving. Instead, two of my sisters come out the front door and towards my car. "Family Member doesn't want to leave because they didn't 'agree' to leave. They said they came to the shower and are going to stay for the entire thing and there is nothing mom can do about it."

I was PISSED. ANGRY. UPSET. FRUSTRATED. And about ready to burst into tears. Why can't this family member leave me the &#%$ alone!!!

A couple more people from the shower came out and joined us in my car so I wouldn't be alone, which was very nice of them... but at the same time I was missing my sister's bridal shower because of this Family Member and no one was fighting for me. Yes, I had a whole party going on in my car, but none of the people in my car had even tried to get this Family Member to leave.

The rest of the weekend and today I am still feeling very angry, upset, hurt, frustrated, pissed off, aggravated, hatred, annoyed, and just fuming and boiling because I'm so mad. I have worked so hard to set up boundaries and to teach my family how to set up boundaries, but my family continues to let people walk all over these boundaries...

I think this Family Member shouldn't be allowed to come to the next big event, like the family dinner or wedding rehearsal dinner. Family Member made me miss something important so now Family Member loses their privilege of coming to the next event.

Writing this post has made me even more upset...

I don't know what is causing my world to come crashing down around me, but here it comes crumbling down and I can't do anything but watch it shatter around me.

A couple weeks ago I went to a normal scheduled session with my T, and I had a full blown meltdown - I had curled up into a ball in the corner of the couch and was crying. I couldn't stop. My life was too much, work was too much, all the physical pain and emotional pain was too much. I cried for two hours. My T told me that I had to choose between taking a leave of absence from work or being admitted to inpatient. I wanted neither...but decided the leave of absence would be the better route.

I went to my doctor the following day and he recommended short-term disability because my pain levels were off the charts. He told me I would not be returning to work for several weeks. I went to my other doctor and he also said short-term disability. They decided to move up my surgery.

I thought that maybe the break from work would relieve the depression and suicidal thoughts, but it has only gotten worse. I am home alone all day, causing me to become more depressed. I am on heavy duty pain medications that cause me to have even more horrific nightmares. I wake up so panicked and stressed that it causes me to be very upset, even more depressed, and suicidal. I try everything I can to erase the nightmares from my mind but they still haunt me.

I am scared to death to go to inpatient because I know that will be the worst option for me. It will destroy me and my system. That thought alone is keeping me from acting on my thoughts, but I'm still scared to death.

My best friend and my roommate know I am struggling a lot right now and they have been super supportive. But they both of them work full time and cannot always be there. I hate that I feel like I need to have someone with me all the time.

I keep hoping and praying that this will pass. I know I struggle the most during this time of the year, but I feel like this has been going on since February/March and has just been getting worse and worse. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm not the kind of person who gives up, but if there's nothing to live for anymore, what do you do?

I don't want to freak any of you out. I don't have any plans and I have gotten rid of anything that could potentially be dangerous in my possession. There are people in my "real life" world who know and are aware of my severe depression. I am simply writing what I'm feeling on here because I feel so so so awful and upset. I just want to know I'm not alone.

It's where my demons hide, it's where my demons hide..." -Imagine Dragons

I have been having a very rough go these past several months... These past several weeks have been even worse.

I happened to check my email today and saw two emails that I wasn't expecting - one from a close friend of mine, and one from a fellow reader/blogger. Both of them wrote to me that they had missed my blogging and that they had been thinking about me.

Both of these emails made me think about why I originally started this blog. I wanted a place to write exactly what I was feeling, thinking, wondering, etc. without having to worry about being judged. A place where I could be myself. A place I could heal. A place where I could find the hope and will to survive and live. A place to encourage and lift others. A place to find myself. I could go on and on...

I want to thank both of you for reaching out to me - it was exactly what I needed today.

I'm writing because I have been silent for too long.

I'm writing because The Monster has come back and I am finally ready to acknowledge it.

I'm writing because I am scared, I feel very alone, and I honestly don't know what to do.

For the past two years, I was blessed to have my dream job. As a teacher, this is a hard thing to get when you first start teaching (depending on the area you live in). For me, I got my dream job right off the bat and although it was very hard, stressful, and tiring, I truly loved my job.

This school year, for those of you who have read my last few posts, are aware that I was forced to move to a different school, and change to a different grade level - this was all done without my knowledge and I had no say in the matter. In fact, my contract for the next school year had already been signed when they officially told me what I would be teaching this year.

I tried my best to start this year off with a positive attitude. It is very hard for me to make new friends but I did my best to get to know the new people I would be working with. But after several weeks of being in school, I hate my job.

I hate it so much that my depression has come back...full force. I think it first came back when I initially learned I would be moving to the new school, but over the last several months and especially over the summer, my depression has become much, much worse.

Every morning I sit up in my bed and just cry. I don't want to be alive. I don't want to go to work. My life feels completely pointless. I hate the crazy, ridiculous expectations I'm expected to live up to. I'm working 12-15 hour days to try to finish everything I need to at work and it's still not enough time. The sad thing is, I'm not the only teacher who feels this way at this school.

I haven't seen my T in several weeks. She didn't call me back for a long time - my best friend ended up contacting her. The next day I finally heard from my T. I'm so angry and upset with my T because I'm not getting the support I need. That causes me to feel more depressed and helpless.

I was also in a car accident right before our students started back to school. My car was totaled, and as a result of all the things I have been feeling and experiencing lately, including memories, triggers, depression, etc...I have PTSD from the accident. Because I haven't seen my T, the PTSD has gotten worse and I haven't been able to drive at all without being extremely triggered. I have to switch with one of my alters in order to drive, or someone else has to drive me places. Even being in a car is triggering.

I'm scared because I've been having suicidal thoughts. They are not constant, and when they do pop up I acknowledge them by telling myself that suicide is not the answer and that things will get better....but I need my T to be consistent. I can't keep doing this on my own. I have a couple of really great friends who have been a huge support system, but they can't be there 24/7 and they aren't trained like a therapist/counselor is. I'm worried that things will continue to get worse if my T keeps rescheduling.

My alters have started to go into "hiding" - for me, this means they go into their own rooms or areas and stay there when the outside world and our inside world become too overwhelming that they just need to escape. I have so many alters that are hiding right now that it is becoming very hard for me to function. The way my system works, I have various information stored in several different alters and I am in constant communication with all of them so we can all function and be successful. Right now, our system is struggling because it is taking so much longer to retrieve information.

All I want to do is cry and curl up in a ball and never leave my room... I hate feeling this way :(
It has turned into me waiting for almost 2 weeks now. And what has happened during those 2 weeks?

I've had a constant stream of memories come up around those events.

I'm remembering more of the people who were involved.

Two of my abusers have confessed to other family members that they did abuse me and that they abused other members in my family, including one of my siblings.

Another one of my sisters is starting to remember being abused.

Other family members are coming forward and telling things that they know - secrets that have been repressed for years, secrets that they can't hide any longer.

One family member went to other family member and apologized to them for not believing me all this time.

The confirmations, the confessions, the affirmations. It's all so real.

My whole life has been me having to keep this huge secret. It has been me having to act like I'm normal, that I'm okay, that everything is fine, that the world is right.

My whole life has been me having to constantly ask myself the question, "did this really happen to me?"

I had tried telling people but no one believed. No one believed me.

And now... after all this time. After being so strong for so long... it's all coming out.

As much as I absolutely hate how hard it has been to remember these things, and to know that I have so much still buried deep within my mind - there is this very tiny bit of comfort, this tiny light at the end of the long tunnel. I was the one who stopped the cycle. I was the one who made people remember. I was the one who spoke up. I was the one who was strong enough to stand up for what was right.

I still have a long and hard road to travel down in my healing process. But this small bit of confirmation that this really did happen to me, that I'm not crazy, that I'm not making it up - that is what will keep me strong.

I was sent here to be the strong one in my family, and I am going to continue to be that person.

sure how much time had passed – she told me that she had to get to her next
appointment. She told me that I would be physically exhausted and that I should
go home and sleep the rest of the day. She also told me that I would be drained
emotionally and mentally, and that I would most likely feel very ill later on.
At this point, she was still crying.

I immediately started panicking. I barely had time to process through what had just happened during my session earlier that day! There was no way in hell I was ready to start processing through even more memories around those events.

Panic attack after panic attack, continuous sobbing, pleading to whatever God above could hear me - I just wanted to feel safe in my own house.

So many things were starting to make sense; fragmented memories were piecing themselves together. I wanted this and hated it all at once. The entire night I fought against the monsters I had been trying to bury for the last 15-20 years.

The next morning I texted my T to ask if we could meet again that week. I had to be able to talk to someone about all of this. I needed to process through these memories. I needed her support. I needed to feel safe.

Her reply - "I can't this week, possibly next week?"

I stared at the text message.

She had just learned about one of my biggest secrets and she replies with "possibly"? Am I worth anything to her? Does she realize that I spent an entire night of hell by myself, scared to death, an inch away from suicidal thoughts, and she tells me "possibly"?
I guess I'll just write.

Last week I went in for a "normal" session with my T - whatever normal is. I hadn't seen her for over 5 weeks so our plan was to just check in with everyone, set goals for the next session, work through some light issues, etc. Instead, the session turned into my T getting this overwhelming feeling that I had something I needed to share with her.

This caught me off-guard. There were several things I had been keeping from her for years - secrets that I didn't want anybody to know, but lately they had been so burdening and scary that I didn't know what to do. I was faced with the fear of "are these memories truth or fiction?"

All I could do was stare at my hands. I didn't say a word - no sounds, no tears. I just sat there.

After some time, she decided we should do some energy work. I was fine with that.

As soon as she started to pull energy off me, I started to feel very dizzy. Typically I don't feel this way and I immediately pointed this out to her. She said she also felt a little different and had me try to ground myself as best I could by placing my hand on her knee. This seemed to help a great deal, surprisingly, and I started to feel better. She, however, began to feel a bit worse.

I then started to feel an overwhelming joy - something I have very little experience with. It was like this moment of freedom. Freedom from all pain, hurt, sorrow, sadness, anger, frustration. My heart seemed to open up and embrace this amazing joyous feeling. That's when I noticed my T was sobbing, uncontrollably.

At first I was confused... I was feeling this incredible feeling of joy and happiness, and here was my T who seemed to be experiencing pain and agony. I didn't understand. All I could do was look at her and wait for her to say something... to say anything.

***Trigger Warning***

The energy coming off of my body was so powerful - nothing like I had ever felt before. I was releasing something huge... something I had held onto for a long time. My T finally spoke, asking me a question that I never thought anyone would ever ask me... "Were you used as a breeder during SRA rituals?"

***End Trigger Warning***

I didn't even have to answer her, because out of no where the tears finally came. The emotions I have locked inside myself for so long, the secrets, the lies, the hiding, the guilt, the shame, everything... it all came out. All I could do was sob for the younger version of me - the part of me who has held onto this secret for so long.

I have never seen my T cry so hard. She kept whispering, "Bee, I am so sorry this happened to you. I'm so sorry you had to go through this..." over and over again.

But the most powerful thing of the whole experience was... I didn't tell her anything.

I believe in a God - I've been struggling with religion my whole life and I currently don't claim to be a part of any specific religion... but in that moment, I don't know how else to explain how she would know something so specific. I have never talked about it. Never. No one in my life knows, except for the people who were involved and I can guarantee they didn't share this information with my T.

So much has happened.

I moved. I have a second sister engaged. My job was changed three times without my consent. I've had 7 different roommates in the past three months. My health has changed, my family has changed. My life has seemed to spin out of control. Somehow I'm still here, holding on for dear life.

Blogger has also decided to change while I have been away, so it's going to take me some time to get used to things. Since I am on summer break (I love being a teacher!) I will have more time to write. I find myself on Twitter quite a bit now.

My best friend has been incredible. I have never had such an amazing constant in my real life that I could count on and trust so openly. She seems to just know exactly how to help me, even when I'm at a total loss. I am able to do the same for her and it has helped her in so many ways as well.

This post was kind of random, I apologize. I hope to write another very soon and to continually update. I've had computer issues the past few months and that has been my main reason for not being able to post and keep my blog updated. I hope all of you are well. I have been keeping up with your blogs through my phone, so that has been a blessing in my life.

See you soon,
BeeBeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02389501651154868657noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3873176583084736685.post-67800613270750882882012-03-19T21:27:00.002-07:002012-03-19T21:30:23.206-07:00Pushed to the Breaking PointI'm so overwhelmed that the switching won't stop.

My vision is constantly blurry.

The pain never goes away - it continues to worsen.

Things at work seem to never get better. More is piled onto my plate. Last minute decisions made by others that effect me greatly. Decisions and outcomes I have to deal with because of my job position/title.

My personal life is a mess because I have to move again. This time of year is very triggering. Memories, flashbacks, etc are surfacing like mad and I'm running like hell to stay afloat. I'm barely breathing.

There is little comfort when I need a huge amount of it.

I feel like I'm going to lose my sanity at any moment, and the fear of that happening is so great that I can't sleep or eat or think clearly. I'm so stressed.

I need the support of my T but who, again, is not there for me in any capacity.

How much longer will I be pushed to the breaking point, without actually breaking?Beehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02389501651154868657noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3873176583084736685.post-76979677826565756932012-03-12T02:57:00.001-07:002012-03-12T02:57:18.182-07:00That Is So F***ing Messed Up...I need to process through something that happened to me a few months ago because it has not only affected me the last couple of months physically, but also mentally and emotionally.

***Trigger Warning***

A few months ago, I had a very bad allergic reaction to a medication and was taken to the ER in an ambulance.

I had gotten home around dinner time - I didn't see anyone else at home (I lived with two roommates at the time). My doctor had prescribed me a new medication for my migraines and instructed me to try this particular one while I was at work. For whatever reason, I didn't feel comfortable trying it at work so I had made the decision to try it on a day I had a migraine and was at home. It happened to be a weekend day that I got a migraine so I tried the new medication a few minutes after I had arrived home.

My throat instantly closed up, making it very hard for me to breathe. I reached for my cell phone and called my mom. When she answered I barely managed to tell her I was having trouble breathing - she told me to call 911 and that her and my dad would be over right away (they lived about 25-30 minutes away). At this point my lungs had started hurting and I was becoming light-headed and dizzy. My throat was very swollen and I had started coughing. I dialed 911. I again barely got the message across that I had taken a medication that caused me to have a severe reaction. She transferred me to the fire department. By this point I was lying on the floor, almost passed out.

Unknown to me at the time, my mom had called one of my roommates who happened to be home asleep. The phone call woke my roommate - she didn't answer her phone but saw that my mom had called her. She came in my room to see what was up, and saw me lying on the floor.

My memory of the events that follow are a little hazy, but from what I do remember and what was told to me from several different people - the fire department, police, and paramedics showed up at my house. I had stopped breathing at this point. Shot of epi. Nothing happened. Oxygen mask. Put me on a stretcher, loaded me in the ambulance.

At this point, I remember being put in the ambulance and seeing my parents running up to me. I hear my mom say to one of the paramedics, "Are you sure it's bad enough for her to go in the ambulance?"

I remember thinking (at first) "Mom, I can't breathe!" and then I thought, "Maybe I will be okay, I'm just imagining it to be much worse than it is."

The paramedics told my mom it was necessary to take me in the ambulance because I had stopped breathing. I blacked out. Next thing I remember, I'm in the hospital trying to breathe but I couldn't. It felt like someone was holding me down underwater, only I wasn't wet. I blacked out again.

I woke up with the worst stomach pain and head pain I have ever had. It felt like my head was going to explode - like my brain was swelling and pushing against my skull. My stomach was burning and twisting and all I wanted to do was throw up everywhere. I remember saying over and over, "I just want to die, I just want to die..." because I was in so much pain. The pain meds they were giving me at the hospital weren't helping at all.

Eventually I threw up all the contents in my stomach, and then some. The pain meds helped my headache enough to help me calm down. The swelling in my throat was going down, but it was very sore. My chest, lungs and heart hurt. The scare was over and I was stable. The doctors told me that if I ever came into contact with that same medication again, it would kill me. I heard them say that I had stopped breathing for almost an hour, they had given me two epi's that didn't do anything for me, and every counteracting medication they tried had had no affects on me. They said it was a medical miracle I survived.

And yet... I still struggle with that little voice in my mind, repeating over and over again: "Are you sure it's bad enough for her to go in the ambulance?"

How does my mom continue to make me doubt every traumatic memory in my life?

Here I have a memory that is very recent, a memory several people witnessed, a memory documented in hospital records, a memory my roommates and several close friends lived through with me, and yet I still doubt the seriousness of the whole thing. I f***ing almost died and I still question the seriousness of the events that took place. All because of my mother doubting and denying everything that happens in my life.

Why does her life have to be so perfect and normal? Why can't she just accept that bad things happen and let me remember and heal and move on?

Instead, I'm left with one of the most concrete memories I will ever have and I still find myself doubting. That is so f***ing messed up.

So here are the main points...

1. I have found my true best friend (post). She is truly the best thing that has ever happened to me. She has not only accepted me and my alters, and gotten to know me and each of them individually, but has also played a significant part in my healing process these past few months.

2. Back in November, I had two very severe allergic reactions that put me in the hospital. Fast forward to February, I am still trying to recover from both of these reactions.

3. A very good friend of mine's 6 year old daughter passed away at the end of November. That same friend ended up in the hospital a week later and has been there since.

4. My new T has become very flaky and strange things seem to be happening with her. I see her about once every 3-4 weeks and I'm supposed to see her weekly.

5. I still love teaching and I have the best students this year. I have had the amazing opportunity to touch so many lives. These kids really look up to me because they can see that my life is different from most other people (my many allergies and pain is known throughout the school now because of my hospital stay back in Nov). They see that even though I have things going against me and preventing me from doing certain things, I still make the best out of what I can. And that drives me to stay positive for them.

It's good to be back :)
I apologize and hope to start writing again much more frequently. I'm so happy to see that I have my same followers still reading and even more followers who have joined while I have been away! Welcome to all of you and I hope you have found at least a little bit of what you were searching for.

I'm currently working on a post to update everyone on what has been going on in my crazy life/world and will be posting it shortly. Thanks again to all of your comments, emails, tweets, messages, texts, etc over the past few months. You guys are amazing and a big part of my healing. I hope I am able to do the same for you too. See you all around :)

You know what I'm talking about - the kind of friend you read about in a book or see in a movie. They are always there 100%, never judging, say encouraging words, hold you when you're sad, celebrates when you're happy, and is just an all-around great person. I've always wanted that... I've wanted to be able to trust another person completely so I could have a friendship that strong, but I guess I've just always assumed I would never have something that great.

I work with a girl (let's call her M) who I met back in the beginning of August. She teaches in the same hallway I do and we ended up working together quite a bit. Over the past month and a half, we have been spending more and more time together because of work - naturally, we started to get to know each other better and started hanging out together more and more outside of work.

Over the past few weeks, we've spent as much time as we can at work together, as much time outside of school together, and texting/talking on the phone the rest of the time. We ended up hanging out one night and pulled an all-nighter and talked for about 14 hours straight. It was one of the best nights of my life because I was able to share with her things I've never told anybody else and she was able to do the same with me.

I was also able to share my DID with her and what really impressed me was the first question she asked me after I told her. She said, "Bee, I would really like to get to know your other personalities if that's okay with you guys?"

No one has ever asked me if they could get to know my alters. I told her heck yes!

*BeeBeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02389501651154868657noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3873176583084736685.post-79198360767202040212011-10-19T20:37:00.000-07:002011-10-19T20:48:42.886-07:00Things I Wish I Could SayI had a session with my T on Monday. Instead of telling her all the things that I have been struggling with the past few weeks, I let one of my alters be out for the time with her.

These are the things I wish I could have said to her...

I'm so overwhelmed by my anxiety that my weight has dropped far below the normal range - it is starting to become a major concern. It's even more frustrating because the people around me make comments about how they wish they could lose weight as fast. I wish I could tell them that this is NOT a good thing...

Some of my alters are constantly screaming. Nothing I do soothes them or makes them stop.

My pain levels are starting to rise again. Some are really high and it's a struggle to do simple things - even just getting out of bed in the morning.

We're all struggling with sleep again and it's starting to effect us during the day - major loss of focus, no attention span, major dissociation/switching, memory loss, fainting spells, exhaustion, etc.

Side effects from new medications are becoming a major concern.

I'm feeling like a total fake and a liar because my roommates don't know about my DID or my alters. I feel like I can't be myself and I feel like I'm constantly hiding something. I hate that.

I hate my job because my principal is forcing me into situations that put me in a position that could potentially get me fired. But at the same time I don't want to quit because I love my students and the teachers I work with and it's a job. How in the world am I supposed to deal with that?

I feel incredibly overwhelmed by life because I feel like I have to hold in all of these secrets because of my DID, and because of my job, and because of my health issues, and because of this and that and etc etc etc. I hate secrets. I hate feeling like I'm hiding things from people. I don't want to hold everything in anymore. I want it gone. I want to be done with it.

There is so much more I need to say and write but I can't...at least not right now.

The things I wish I could say...Beehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02389501651154868657noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3873176583084736685.post-32806381705363352642011-10-16T18:37:00.000-07:002011-10-16T18:40:47.898-07:00Introducing My AltersFall and spring are typically very tough times of the year for both me and my alters, especially fall. I've noticed over the past few years that talking to our T is just not enough for us to express what is going on and we're often left feeling depressed and alone with no one else to talk to between sessions. I've been thinking of ways to fix this problem and the only thing I've come up with so far is sharing my blog with them. We've kind of done this in the past but now I want them to make themselves known and really express what's going on for them. I hope it will not only help them individually and all of us as a whole person but each of my readers as well and maybe even their alters.

I know some of you already share your blog with your alters so any ideas or tips or anything would be greatly appreciated!

Have a great week :)
Bring It On!I have had the amazing opportunity to move in with some beyond amazing girls who have changed and are changing my life for the better. I have never been so happy all the time in my entire life. No matter what kind of day I've had, as soon as I walk into my house a smile appears on my face simply because the energy is so good and happy and I feel loved. I feel accepted. I feel at peace and safe. For the first time in my life, I know what "home" feels like.

The three times I have had to go back to my parents house (for whatever reason - borrowed/returned something, birthday, etc) since I've moved out, I've hated the feeling/energy in their house and I just wanted to leave it. All of my friends and co-workers have been commenting on how much happier I've been and how happy I look all the time. Even my twin sister says she can tell that my whole life has turned around in these last 3 weeks.

This is probably the best thing I could have ever done for myself and my alters. I am so blessed to have found this house and these amazing girls to be my roommates. We have all instantly become really good friends and I know that this is where I am supposed to be right now. I am so excited to finally be able to do some serious work in therapy so I can heal and really move on in life.

I AM READY! BRING IT ON!

I have been sending my new T some of my old emails to her - (conversations between me and my old T). I came across one particular email that really hit me hard...at first I tried to put it aside and forget it but it kept nagging me in the back of my mind.

At the time, I had been pretty much on bed rest because of my severely high pain levels. I was about 19 years old, on morphine, and basically stuck in bed all day except for when I had my college classes. My old T was convinced that my alters were sabotaging my life and I kept defending them, telling my old T that they weren't making me sick. This is what I wrote to my old T late one night...

“You don’t know what it’s like. There are theories from people who know nothing about having voices in their head. There are things I just know. I can’t prove them, but I know them. I know they are true. I know I have alters who lie and do things I hate, but this is me talking. I live with this disorder every moment of every day. I know things about it that nobody else would know - unless they have alters. There are things I can never tell. Never explain. Never be able to prove. But I know. I know...

I know it sounds weird when I say that I know when I can eat or drink certain things, or when certain things make me feel better or worse. It probably sounds like I’m crazy or that I’m making it up, but I swear I’m not. There is something going on and I can’t figure out what it is. It is frustrating and tiresome and ridiculous but I’m willing to fight for it.

You don’t know what it’s like to live like this. To be afraid of things most people cannot see. To talk to people who are only talking to you. To never sleep; instead, you see things and call them dreams because you don’t know what else to call them. Supposed memories that come to you, and people telling you it’s from your life but you don’t ever remember living it. You go weeks without eating anything and yet you look the exact same – as if no matter how much pain you have to suffer through from starving to death it never shows the effects on the outside.

I can’t explain to someone what it is like to look in a mirror and not recognize the face inside it.

I feel like I’m always trying to give people what they want or expect, but I’m always falling short. Somehow I end up being the disappointment.

Big changes - both good and bad.

Being a teacher is very hard. Oftentimes I work 10 to 12 hour days (or more) because there are just simply not enough school hours to get everything done - and I'm not the only teacher who is staying this long. At least half of the other teachers are pulling crazy hours like this too, sometimes even more. Unexpected things pop up, meetings run long, prep hours disappear, emergencies, etc. Pretty soon you find yourself chained to your desk hidden behind a mountain of papers, wondering how far away the weekend is. I don't want my job to be like that. I want to love my job. I want to look forward to going to work. I love my students and I want to have a positive attitude so when I am working with them I can have a positive influence in their lives.

I moved. I got myself some roommates and moved out of my parents house (yay!) and it is awesome! I forgot how much better I do when I live on my own away from family. It has been a nice change.

I have been struggling. This time of year is always really rough for me and stays rough until after Thanksgiving/Christmas. I'm hoping this year things will be better because I will have a healthy escape (my house) to go to when my family and extended family become too overwhelming or triggering. I also have a new T that is amazing and has already done so much for me and my alters.

That Session Was Amazing! For those of you who have been following my blog, you know that I've been having some major issues with my T. I ended up finding a therapist that I first met with about a week and a half ago - it was that initial "interview" session. Right away I felt this connection to her. Things just felt so right and there was a very powerful energy in the room.

Today I had my first official session with her - wow. That session was AMAZING!

On my way home from my session, I called my T (who I have been seeing for over 5 years) and told her that I wasn't going to be seeing her anymore. I feel like a giant weight has been lifted off of my shoulders!

Anyway, back to my new T!!

I have an alter who is under the age of 10, and who is always so so angry. She comes out and breaks things, tears things apart, sets fires, bangs her head, yells and screams, ruins anything she can get her hands on. Lately she has been having memories surface and it has been a real struggle for everyone in the system. My old T was afraid to work with her so that alter never came out during our sessions.

Well, today she came out during our first session with new T and WOW! Words cannot describe how amazing this T is. Not only did she meet this alter - new T talked with her the entire 60 minutes, and was so great with her that this alter didn't want to leave. For those of you who have an alter like this, you know how rare this is. This alter, who has hated everything and everyone for as long as I can remember, left today's session with a smile on her face. A SMILE!

Today's session had that same powerful energy - warm, encompassing, friendly, calming. My alters and I pick up on that so fast. I can't believe I've never been able to find her before.

Wow...I'm still just totally baffled and it has been several hours now since the session. I wish everyone could have a therapist who is this amazing.

I'm still "WOW"-ing in my head, over and over again!

I've been severely dissociated lately and it's hard to be grounded enough to type clearly.

It all started with the first days back to work with the other fellow teachers - no students. Only a couple of the teachers were here last year with me, all the rest are new. The chemistry is beyond fantastic. It's going to be an amazing year.

One teacher in particular, a male, has taken interest in me. Not in a bad way; he is a really great guy! We're able to joke around with each other at any given moment and it's nice to have someone like that. We've hung out quite a bit over the past few weeks. I'll call him L.N.

The end of the first week of school, with students, some of the teachers went to a restaurant after school to unwind, drink, talk, whatever. I don't drink - I'm very allergic to alcohol - but I went for the social part of it. My boss over my particular department got very drunk. More drunk than I've ever seen at a place like this.

******TRIGGER WARNING********

He ended up hitting on me at first, then talking about his dick - how big it was, how "pleasing" it was. I immediately started freaking out, internally, because externally I had to appear normal. I wanted to get out of there and just go home. L.N. volunteered to take this guy home but I could tell he really didn't want to. L.N. turned to me and asked if I could go with him to take this other guy home. I agreed because I trust L.N. (wow, did I just say that out loud??) but as soon as we got in the car, I regretted it.

The entire 30 minute car ride was my boss talking about how attractive and sexy I was. How big his dick was and how it didn't matter in the end. How I needed to find a good and honest guy to marry and have a family. How much he liked my body and my mind. I was frozen in the backseat, not able to say anything or even move. Absolutely terrifying.

***End Triggers***

We finally got him home and the car ride back was a little better. L.N. kept apologizing over and over again. He could tell I wasn't doing so good.

Ever since that night, I've been extremely dissociated. This whole week has been hell.

I've had several different parents attack me personally. One set of parents yelled at me for 5 minutes until the principal told them that I wasn't their student's teacher last year.

I woke up with a black eye one morning because my alters had been fighting with each other all night long. I've had yelling, screaming, fighting, etc going on in my head while teaching. I honestly don't understand how hell can be going on in your mind but on the outside look so "normal". It's a freaking miracle I haven't had an emotional breakdown yet.

Dissociation is my worst enemy and my best friend.

I got into a huge fight with my best friend - we've been friends for over 13 years now, more than half of my life. It was big and loud and ugly.
Then my sister Bri was yelling at me all week for who knows why!
My sister R called me a jerk and blamed me for not doing something SHE was responsible for.
My sister Ruthie is being taken from our family and will be living somewhere else - no one will tell us how long she'll be gone.
I'm so anxious and stressed out that I can't breathe. I've hardly ate anything. I haven't been sleeping.

I keep all my secrets deep inside of me. When I finally get to a point where I'm ready to talk about one of them, but there is no one to tell, that secret buries itself even deeper and the chances of it coming back up is slim to none.

I'm too exhausted to type anymore...

I finally got the keys to my new classroom, so the past two weeks I have been at my school trying to put my classroom together. I do, however, LOVE that I'm busy again! I forgot how much I love being busy all the time...
For those of you who have been following me, you've heard a lot about my T. The new update - I have decided to keep my T until I have found a new therapist that is a good match for me and my system. At this point in time, I want to have support from a T who knows me but I don't want to see her unless I really need to. This gives me a chance to search for a new T while not stressing myself out.

My T, however, gained some points this past week. I'm sure those of you with DID can relate...

I have been having a really hard time with one of my alters. She is considered a "main alter" in my system, meaning she is out a lot and is a very positive influence. Lately she has been remembering some very awful memories and she is really struggling. My other main alters and I have been constantly searching for new ways and techniques to help her through this hard time but nothing has worked. I felt so helpless watching her suffer so much...

We decided, as a system, to have a short session with our T to explain to her the situation and see if she had any suggestions that might help us to figure this out. Our T ended up suggesting something we thought was totally all wrong for this alter and that it would only complicate things even more.We left her office feeling even more frustrated.

A few days later, one of my alters came to me and said that we should just try our T's suggestion. We all knew it was a long shot but after a cumulative vote, we agreed to try.

Not even 10 minutes had gone by and this alter was improving exponentially! I was so surprised by this that I couldn't even think straight. It has now been 4 days since we tried our T's suggestion and this alter is already back into the swing of things and doing so great!

So for now, our T has earned some major points and has been bumped back up to a person we can learn to trust again. This doesn't mean we're going to stick with her - I still want to find a new T. But this positive experience will help me to move on without feeling guilty and emotionally attached. I will be able to move on without negative feelings regarding her.

I hope you all have a fantastic week! I finally get my students on Monday!! SO excited!!!

I am so excited for the new school year and the new challenges it will bring. As we were talking, she started naming off all of the things I was able to help my students with this last school year.

One of my students, we'll call her Lexi, has a learning disability in both math and language arts (basically an English class). She came to me for both class periods and I taught her at her level of understanding. Lexi was extremely shy and withdrawn when I first met her during my student teaching and I immediately took her under my wing. She reminded me of myself when I was her age.

Although Lexi was an 8th grader, her level of understanding was about 3rd/4th grade. Her main struggle was her inability to retain information unless it was repeatedly taught to her over a long period of time. There were times that I spent the entire 60 minutes teaching her a simple math concept, and then the next day she would have no idea how to do the math problems based on what we had learned the day before. After several weeks of this, I became frustrated with myself because I wasn't able to get through to her.

What I did start noticing, however, was that she was starting to open up to me. Instead of me trying to get her to talk to me, Lexi would start the conversation! She started asking more questions and was able to voice what she wasn't understanding. As time went on she became more outgoing and self-confident. I became less frustrated with myself and did the best I could.

The last week of school, I was working with Lexi on her last math assignment. It was long division - we had been working on long division for 5 months with no real breakthrough. As she was working out the first problem, she looked up at me and said "I never knew how to do long division before because no one would teach it to me. Thank you for teaching me." She smiled and then went back to her assignment. It took all my strength to hold back the tears. I was so happy for her, but at the same time it made me so sad to think that all of her other math teachers hadn't bothered to spend some extra time with Lexi to teach her long division.

There are times when I feel like I need to be a better teacher because I'm not teaching my students "good enough"...but then I think back and remember Lexi. Something so simple that I had done for her meant the world to her.

I want to be able to do that for each and every one of my students.
